The Signal - 8/21/12 playlist (Burns & Kristy and etc.)

by Chris Kocher from The Signal at 11:51 PM on 8·21·2012

[From 7-10 p.m. Tuesday]

Great chat tonight with Terry Burns and Ron Kristy (burnsandkristy.com) about their new album “Caravan.” They’ll perform at 6 p.m. Saturday at Lot 10 in Ithaca and 9:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Lost Dog Cafe in Binghamton. (NOTE: Apparently I spent the whole show saying the Binghamton performance is “next Friday,” which is wrong – many, many apologies to Burns and Kristy for this. At least I also kept saying it was First Friday, so hopefully people got the message.)
Songs we played:
“Caravan”
“Everything”
“Runaway Train”
“Love Song”
“Blue Paper Boat”
“If I Fly”
“All My Tears”
“On an Ordinary Day”
“Seventeen Again”

Then I played some early Chicago tracks (including side 1 of the “Chicago Transit Authority” debut album) and talked about the show at Anderson Center next Tuesday.
“Introductions”
“Does Anybody Know What Time It Is?”
“Beginnings”
“Fancy Colours”
“25 or 6 to 4”

From there it was pretty random.
“Give the Devil Back His Heart” – Barr Brothers
“Timezone” – The New No. 2 (NEW RELEASE)
“Live Like a Warrior” – Matisyahu (NEW RELEASE)

For Joe Strummer’s 60th birthday
“This is Radio Clash”/“Radio Clash” – The Clash
“The Magnificent Seven” – The Clash

“Merry Go Round” – The Replacements (by request)
“Just Breathe” – Willie & Lukas Nelson

Next week, I hope to have two special (separate) guests with me – you won’t want to miss it, so tune in.
