[From 7-10 p.m. Tuesday]

Really fantastic interview tonight with Vance Gilbert, one of my favorite singer/songwriters – he performs Saturday night at 6 On The Square in Oxford for the venue’s sixth anniversary celebration. We chatted about his career, his music, his advice to young songwriters and more. Here are his songs that we played before, during and after the interview:

“Old White Men”
“Ten Thousand Skies”
“Cry Like an Angel” (Shawn Colvin cover)
“Boy on a Train”
“Dragonfly Wings”
“Takin’ It All to Tennessee”
“Save the Last Dance” (The Drifters cover)
“Dear Amelia”
“That Front Porch Song”
“Icarus by Night”
“Unfamiliar Moon”

From there, a few more folk tunes from me:
“Cape Cod Girls” and “Sunny Afternoon” (The Kinks cover) – Baby Gramps (along with new station ID)
“Love Out Loud” – disappear fear (NEW)

Apprentice Jake took over for a bit:
“Takin’ It To The Streets” – The Doobie Brothers
“Fall Back Down” – Rancid
“Smells Like Teen Spirit” – Nirvana
“Jesus is Just Alright” – The Doobie Brothers

Then a couple more from me to round off the show:
“Original Love” – Josephine Oniyama
“Still Fighting the War” – Slaid Cleaves (NEW)

Next week, Texas singer/songwriter Billy Eli joins me in the studio to talk about his new album, “The Unexplainable Billy Eli.” Should be another great one.
